which is a better chipset? 945 or 965? (on ASUS Platform)?

Please assist me surrounded by buying a mobo.

i'm confused with those 945s and 965s.

my budget is 8k(max).

Now i really get a platform and that too ASUS.

But their models are confusing.

P5LD2, P5LD2 V, P5LD2 VM, P5LD2 VM SE, P5B, P5B VM, P5B V, P5B E, P5B E Plus.

I need to opt among the above mentioned.

I am planning to use C2D E6300 in contrast to 7900gt (no sli) near the mobo.

Don't know why the first guy is calling the 965 ancient, it was released one and the same month as the 975. Anyway I would recommend the 965, it is simply better for the Core 2 Duos than the 945.
those chipsets were frail the 965 was immensely much like the 975 i dont know why race are going backwards and not useing a 975 and why when the core 2 duo came out they reintroduced the 965 the 975 serial ata2 controler be the best i tested i was using the abit aw8 max near maxtor 16mb it had better deeds than rapters
