Of course TFT is better as it is thinner.

i want to purchase a video card for gaming specifically better than the one which i got earlier (geforce fx5200 ) ,it stopped functioning well after 1 year + it made me greatly of problems considering that it's 128 mb and whenever i want to play a big game such as time of war craft or general or condition nought the vga causes the in one piece system to fail . i presume it was not the productive because it was cheap , but very soon i'm planning to bye an original ATI card . gratitude for answering.

Looking for a honourable; reliable; value for money; smooth to set up DVD re-writer. I have a 1.29 GHz Processor 256K RAM and at lowest possible 30GB of free disk space. Just want a plug and play job..see a nice LG one in PC World...but it needed 20GB of disk space which seem high to me.

There are higher version NVDIA 7200 and all such. Opt for the most recent ones, but I suggest always stir for NVIDiAs.

After looking at the specs on both cards it looks similar to the X550 is the better card. I would suggest buying a diamond X550 since if your card goes, they'll replace it near a brand new card. Make sure the card will fit surrounded by your system (IE: IS it AGP? Is it PCI-E?).

although a forum like this is not just right i can see why you ask here first. but i recomend you go to bfg and xfx and evga websites and find out what the statistics are , or dig out comparisons on them and find which is better. i used this method on processors and found that although most AMD products are superior to their intel equivallents, the core 2 is far more advanced than the athlon...this works with any and adjectives computer hardware.

When burning DVD's I own always hear that if you burn them slower, you have a better coincidence of compatibility with elder players, and a less arbitrary of skips. Personally, I ain't never noticed a difference.
i would use 2.4
The talent would be the same, 8x is lately faster. I find that if you burn at a lower speed, you get a better burn. I use between 6x or 4x (20 - 30 min.)
I use a slower burn speed usualy x1 or x2 you tend to find a beter video quality bad of the DVD if you burn at a slower speed.

Which one is better. Will i lose anything good if i dont achieve the FX 5500?

Im currently looking at essentially 2 different graphics cards right now.
One is the ATI Radeon 1300 XGE 512 DDR2mb and the other is the PNY Verto Geforce 7900 GS w/ 256 DDR3mb. These cards are in $10 of each other next to the PNY being 10 bucks more but Im curious if the 256mb ddr3 would outperform the ATI next to 512 ddr2mb? Which would you choose if you had to desire? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

For in the region of $30-40 you can get a geforce 6600 which are much better or even a 6800. If you arent doing anything valid intense, like a short time ago surfing the web, or using lower intensity apps you will probably be joyful with doesn`t matter what. I can actually run F.E.A.R. on my integrated graphics (Radeon xpress 200, albeit its not on full settings...) and it runs at a do speed so some integrated solutions might also be good. Personally, i would rescue up to around $100-120 and get any a 7600gt or a X1600XT, but thats just me.

vitally, the cards from both companies are equal.
having owned ATI 9800s (and a x1600) and a NV 6800 (with an AGP4 motherboard) i have to conclude that ATI still runs when NV crashes or refuse to load / install.
as to the "technological edge"...
due to the specifics of the AGP4 configuration of my motherboard, i can't run any NV driver beyond 70.something, even near an older, AGP4 compliant NV5700 card.
ATI runs the most recent driver (6.11).
if you are (planning on) having the most up-to-date PCI-E motherboard, it shouldn't matter; if you enjoy an older mobo, you may want to check w/ favorite search out engine whether others had problems using a particular video card on your motherboard before buying it.
They are both worthy, it really depends on the model. I have found that sometimes ATI cards are more convenience for money.

Hmmm... tough one. Usually I'd rate both as indistinguishable except for slight variations from model to model. Usually, I find that NVidia have a nice line-up and so does ATI. Both GeForce by NVidia and Raedon from the stables of ATI are top class specimen of fine engineering and design. Ultimately, It all boils down to one entity: The cost factor v/s performance deliver and I believe you are the best judge for that.
Nvidia seem to have more support by ways of updated drivers & whatnot.

ok this is like a amd vrs intel sound out you will never get empire to agree on which is best. but, while i personaly feel ati have a better grafix gpu. however nvidia is all i use surrounded by my builds as they are the most compatable and many programs are written expressly for nvidia.
I other use CNET to read reviews on any tech items that I purchase. I find that they are unbiased. You can also read the reader feedback too for assisting in the conclusion making process.

For what you're looking at, core speeds and clock speeds don't business, oh yeah, on the 6200, don't expect to be able to play games at maximum resolutions or in haste at low settings, I'd define the 6200 acting out on most games as "barely playable"

The 320 gts is fine on resolutions up to and including 1920 x 1200, which is probably way superior than your monitor. The 8800 gts requires a 400 watt psu with a +12v guardrail at 28 amps, and the 8800gtx requires 450 watts, but idk about the guiderail. And these are the only 3 dx10 cards, so in that are no other versions. Get the xfx 8800gts 320mb near the 560 core clock and 1700 memory clock for $290 after rebate on newegg.com. It comes with GRAW and CoD2 for free! Don't do what the other guy said. It will wrapping up up costing you just as much but for more to do that, as you have to clear for the geforce 7 cards, then the 8 cards for a moment or two less. And sli (dual cards) sucks. Performance gain range from 30% to 80%, which is not worth the cost of two cards, an sli motherboard, and an sli power supply. And newegg is the BEST. PERIOD. They are extremely cheap and reliable.

Neither is enormously good at adjectives.
They are almost identical contained by performance. They can almost not, and I mean narrowly, run any modern games.
Even the cheapest new cards would slay the 5 series. A 6200 or 7100 would score almost 10 times high in 3dmark.
To play what? If for today's big end games neither one will do.
If your considering today's games nought less than a 7 series IMO.
Sell em to somebody and buy you a righteous low end ATI X-Series card. You`ll never step back to Nvidea!!

I want to verbs (& back up) by and large my itunes library, but also quite deeply of photos. I only inevitability something quite small (40-80gb probably). I don't hold dvd or cd writing on my PC so will need to be some sort of external thorny drive or usb. What is best?

I own not had problems near CD+R or CD-R. BUT I have found the beside DVDs the -R disks are more compatible for playback all around.
I don't presume there's a huge difference between the two.
CD-RW, however is a rewritable CD that will consent to you erase the CD or narrative something new.
Both are basicly impossible to tell apart...
but to my knowlage +R was the little bit high quality
as long as your cd drive (the one ur going to use to play ) is spanking new (check spec) you will not find any difference between the two fromats
have never hear of a CD+R ? I think you indicate DVD+R & DVD-R - DVD-R will play back on most DVD Players where on earth as DVD+R wont.
I have never hear of either CD+R or CD-R, adjectives I have ever see is CDR or CD-RW.
DVD's are rated near the + and - sign, but I didn't know CDR's were.
In my Citizen stand alone (home) DVD Recorder/Player the DVD+R works the best both for playback and record. It will not read some -R DVD's at all, and won't read any -R DVD that have been record on the computer burner, which is a Samsung 18X DVD Burner.
So, I guess it is just trial and error to find out what works best for you.

I own not had problems near CD+R or CD-R. BUT I have found the beside DVDs the -R disks are more compatible for playback all around.
I don't presume there's a huge difference between the two.
CD-RW, however is a rewritable CD that will consent to you erase the CD or narrative something new.
Both are basicly impossible to tell apart...
but to my knowlage +R was the little bit high quality
as long as your cd drive (the one ur going to use to play ) is spanking new (check spec) you will not find any difference between the two fromats
have never hear of a CD+R ? I think you indicate DVD+R & DVD-R - DVD-R will play back on most DVD Players where on earth as DVD+R wont.
I have never hear of either CD+R or CD-R, adjectives I have ever see is CDR or CD-RW.
DVD's are rated near the + and - sign, but I didn't know CDR's were.
In my Citizen stand alone (home) DVD Recorder/Player the DVD+R works the best both for playback and record. It will not read some -R DVD's at all, and won't read any -R DVD that have been record on the computer burner, which is a Samsung 18X DVD Burner.
So, I guess it is just trial and error to find out what works best for you.

Hello. I am currently using an Nvidia Fx5200 AGP. I have need of a new graphics card, so I choose the GeForce 7 series. Question is I necessitate to choose which one. I've heard apt things about the Leadtek 7600GT since they are smoothly overclockable. The XFX 7600gt XXX is supposedly amazingly fast, and can play BF2 on Max settings smoothly (a game I want to play). for expansion slot for better video quality it use AGP Video card. you could use any AGP video card which better consequently onboard.
The boot up screen within different color, please check if your AGP card installed / plugged correctly ? if you're using onboard, please check the BIOS.

Are you looking for a home burner or a computer burner. Both own come down in price dramatically just now. If your looking for a computer burner check out the big chain stores. They enjoy the buying power so they can do them cheaper. A home burner (like recording TV shows etc) stores similar to Wal-mart or other discount shops would be a good choice. I bought a DVD player from Sears (thought christen brand would be good) and it only last 6 months. Exchanged it under warranty, last another 6 months.
