Which is a better brand maxtor or seagate?

seagate hand down in this comparison

Navigate around storagereview.com for adjectives the data and comparisons.
SATA and Seagate you will not dance wrong with that...
SATA is a faster verbs mechanism than Ultra ATA but you will inevitability a mother board that supports SATA in proclaim to use a SATA HDD. And Ultra ATA HDD will work on a boad that supports other ATA HDD but may not work as fast as a board that have suppost for Ultra ATA.

Both Maxtor and Seagate are good brands. What you want to try to capture is the lowest seek time, topmost RPM and a high cache memory for your money.

Hope this help
Definitely Seagate ..... no contest.

Go for SATA 2 (300 MByte transfer rate) a bit than invest in elder & slower technology.

You may need to buy a SATA 2 adapter if you PC does not already enjoy one. They sell for around $40.

***** MAKE SURE THEY ARE BOTH (HDD & Card) SATA 2 *****

seagate
Seagate mainly make internal HDDs, and Maxtor makes External HDDs. They are on the whole the same.
